　　香港有很多令人驕傲的地方，充分的新聞自由和資訊自由是其中之一。很難想像，沒有這個優勢的香港會是一個怎樣的地方。新聞傳播工作為香港作出貢獻，不僅是無形的思想、文化貢獻，而且也是有形的經濟、物質貢獻。香港的經濟繁榮離不開新聞自由和資訊自由。隨虒穈T科技日益發達，我們必須更加珍惜這些自由，培養更多更出色的新聞傳播人才。我們的新聞自由和資訊自由是充分的，但這方面的傑出人才，永遠不會足夠，因為我們面對茠滿A是資訊不斷膨脹，以及由此而來的挑戰。

    　　Hong Kong prides itself on many things and high on the list are press freedom and the free flow of information. And it is hard to imagine what Hong Kong would be like without them.

　　Our media industry has been conducive not only to our broader thinking, but also to our economic prosperity, showcasing how freedom of the press and free flow of information have underpinned our economic success. With technology advancing at such a rapid a pace, this kind of freedom is all the more cherished. While we enjoy a high degree of press freedom, we should never forget to train as many remarkable journalists as we can to meet the challenges in this era of information expansion.
