　　「香港最佳新闻奖」是香港新闻界一年一度的盛事。它透过不同组别奖项，表扬传媒工作者过去一年的杰出表现，激励业界人士精益求精，不断寻求突破。

　　传媒行业就如其他行业一般，随著近年科技的高速发展而越趋多元化，以适应各方人士的爱好和需求。面对挑战，香港报章凭著全面、准确的出色报道，维持著庞大的读者群，在新闻媒体中继续占有重要地位。本年度得奖作品，就是杰出报道的典范。

　　本港新闻从业员勇於维护新闻与言论自由，各得奖人作为其中的表表者，值得嘉许。我们也要对所有其他参赛者表示感谢，他们的努力和热诚，是推动业界共同进步和成长不可或缺的力量。

    　　The annual Hong Kong News Awards is a major event in the media industry where outstanding journalists receive recognition for their excellent work in the past year. The Awards also motivate journalists to excel and strive for the best.

　　Like other industries, the media industry has experienced rapid technological development in recent years. It has taken on many different faces, each catering to the interests and preferences of different customer groups. Despite all the challenges, newspapers remain an important media channel with sizeable readership. They achieve this by offering accurate, comprehensive and well-written reports. Our winning awards this year present fine examples of these reports.

    　　The winners of the News Awards are worthy of our congratulations. They are the outstanding representatives of a profession dedicated to the free flow of information and freedom of expression. We should also commend other contestants who submitted entries. It is only with their hard work and enthusiasm that we can be ensured of growth and improvement in the industry.
