第六十七届2021-2023年度香港报业公会执行委员会选举结果
香港报业公会于2021年9月17日举行了2021年度周年会员大会暨第六十七届2021-2023年度第一次议会会议，推选了李祖泽先生为会长、郭艳明女士为主席、谭卫儿女士及郭晓亭女士为副主席、名誉秘书为张介岭先生、名誉司库为黎振辉先生。新一届议会亦通过委任卢觉麟先生为总干事，卢永雄先生为新闻发言人。
周年会员大会选出全体16名议会委员：卢觉麟先生﹝AM730﹞、于世俊先生﹝大公报﹞、罗政先生﹝文汇报﹞、伍国耀先生﹝中国日报香港版﹞、甘焕腾先生﹝明报﹞、郭艳明女士﹝信报﹞、金衍倢女士﹝南华早报﹞、谭卫儿女士﹝南华早报﹞、郭晓亭女士﹝星岛日报﹞、蔡晋博士﹝星岛日报﹞、萧世和先生﹝英文虎报﹞、林映先生﹝香港仔﹞、张介岭先生﹝香港商报﹞、黎振辉先生﹝香港经济日报﹞、卢永雄﹝巴士的报﹞及锺蕴晴女士﹝新晚报﹞。
香港报业公会(公会)将一如既往，继续关注及维护业界权益，并致力提高专业水平，加强业界与政府的沟通。近年，报业不断转型创新，成功发展网上业务。可惜的是，传统报章的网上广告，受制于社交媒体及搜索平台的掠夺式经营手法，未能取得合理回报。爲了抵御它们的压榨，阻止它们蚕食报业的盈利和发展空间，公会积极团结及凝聚业界，与时并进，保持竞争力。去年公会结合会员报馆的力量，推动成立自动化广告销售平台「报网通」，发挥群策群力的互助精神，令业界的电子广告业务更为壮大，以应对当前及往后的挑战。
「2020年度香港最佳新闻奬」颁奖典礼已于8月4日圆满举行，香港特别行政区财政司司长陈茂波担任主礼嘉宾。今届评奖活动得到业界的大力支持，参赛作品数量超过600多份，获奖作品备受好评。无论报业前景多严峻，传媒生态怎样改变，报纸作为主要的新闻媒体，必须坚守忠于事实的原则，承担社会责任，推动社会进步。
ELECTION RESULTS OF 2021-2023 NSHK EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Newspaper Society of Hong Kong (NSHK) held its Anual General Meeting 2021 on September 17, 2021. The 67th (2021-2023) Council elected Mr. Lee Cho-jat as President, Ms. Alice Kwok as Chairperson, Ms. Tammy Tam and Ms. Betty Kwok as Vice-Chairperson. Other office-bearers elected were Honorary Secretary Mr. Zhang Jieling and Honorary Treasurer Mr. Eric Lai. The Council also appointed Mr. Alan Lo as Executive Director and Mr. Lo Wing-hung as Spokesperson.
A total of sixteen Council Members were elected. They are Mr. Alan Lo (AM730), Mr. Yu Shijun (Ta Kung Pao), Mr. Luo Zheng (Wen Wei Po), Mr. George Ng (China Daily – Hong Kong Edition), Mr. Keith Kam (Ming Pao Daily News), Ms. Alice Kwok (Hong Kong Economic Journal), Ms. Ang Jin (South China Morning Post), Ms. Tammy Tam (South China Morning Post), Ms. Betty Kwok (Sing Tao Daily), Dr. Cai Jin (Sing Tao Daily), Mr. Siu Sai-wo (The Standard), Mr. Lin Ying (Lion Rock Daily), Mr. Zhang Jieling (Hong Kong Commercial Daily), Mr. Eric Lai (Hong Kong Economic Times), Mr. Lo Wing-hung (Bastille Post) and Ms. Chung Wan-ching (The New Evening Post).
The Newspaper Society of Hong Kong (NSHK) has continued to work on various fronts to raise the professional standards of journalism, safeguard the interests of the industry and maintain close communication with the Government. The newspaper industry has broken new ground in recent years in responding to technological developments and readers' growing use of electronic platforms. Regrettably, they have been prevented from obtaining a reasonable return from electronic advertising because of the predatory business practices of social media and search engine platforms. In order to safeguard the profitability and sustainability of newspapers, members of NSHK pulled together to raise the competitiveness of the industry by setting up “Newsochub”, a one-stop online advertising platform last year. It has since boost the revenue of participating newspapers and achieved satisfactory promotion for advertisers.
The 2020 Hong Kong News Awards Presentation Ceremony was held on 4 August to recognize the outstanding works of journalists and officiated by the Financial Secretary of the HKSAR, Mr. Paul Chan Mo-po. We received an overwhelming response from the industry with more than 600 entries were submitted to this year's competition. Regardless of the changing ecology of the media, newspapers as major news providers must abide by the principle of seeking truth, and be socially responsible in fostering social progress.
